GODS OF SILDRYS

Of why the stories about to be told are told the way they are

How is a story told?
You start at the beginning and end when it is done.
How do you tell the story of a whole world?
You start with how the world came to be. You tell the story of how at first there was nothing and then the gods appeared somehow and created everything.
Normally.
Normally it is something along those lines.
But how do you tell a story that does not begin with the world's creation, but before it?
You go back.
Far back.
Maybe even further.
Back in the time before time there was, of course, nothing.
And Nothing, being the almighty … thing … that it is (or not is) got bored. Bored enough that it stopped caring about the consequence of creating something that IS.
It created the Far Darkness and a handful of gods to bring life into it. And for a long time the gods did a pretty good job.
Yet, over the eons more and more gods were born and the knowledge about the Nothing faded. The Elders, those few gods the Nothing once created to take care of that what is, didn't mind that. In fact, they embraced the idea that the younger believed them to be the creators of everything that existed.
Maybe embraced the idea too much.
This is where our story starts to begin.
There came, of course, the day, when the Elders had seen and done everything one could think of.
And they got bored.
They remembered what the Nothing had done when it came into this state and the Elders decided it was time to do the same.
If only they had understood that the Nothing was by far not as ill-meaning as them.
If only they had understood that the Nothing did not create them to rejoice by watching them fail at their attempts to create good things that were.
If only …
But they didn't.
In their minds the best thing to do now was to wipe out everything that was except for the Far Darkness and watch some new gods try their hands on filling it with things that'd be.
There were a many generations of gods between the Elders and the youngest.
There once were.
And then there were none.

[...End of teaser...]
I felt like I could as wlel share the first 380 words of my original fiction with you.
So, here we are, he very beginning of the very first story of -Gods of Sildrys-

I dearly hope I'll be able to finish all of the 25 stories for that book this year and be able to find a neat publisher.

Wish me luck :)
